That English Themed Wedding

I just finished my latest Wedding Guest Book, ordered by B2B from Kajang 2 weeks ago. She asked for English theme, dusty pink shades. And the design of the cover and first page was inspired by herself.

And honestly, this would be one of my favorite. I used Layla and Mini Leli on this one, but I altered them a little bit. Instead of putting those shining brooches and small beads on both respectively, I put pearl beads.

I was really hoping that the colors of chiffon that I used suit the theme. The B2B provided me strips of ribbons she used for her wedding just to guide me for the theme color, but it was hard to find the same ones for the chiffon.

I have to admit, 2 weeks was too short for me to finish this, but finally I'm really happy that I manage to make it done and send the book to her yesterday. I hope she'll love it and enjoy her wedding fabulously. And thanks to Allah to make it happen and thanks to Imran for supporting me, like always!

Assorted shades of dusty pink chiffon that I'd bought. Nice!

The girl also ordered this simple signboard. Lovely!

Fin. And now I can sit and relax and enjoy the sunshine and rain!
Have a fabulous day, people!

Mason Jar Project 01

Packing tape sticker for the mason jar.
Can be used as a candle holder, guest book table setting decoration or centerpiece on your wedding party!

Packing Tape Photo Transfer

Salam and Hello.
As I promised, here is the tutorial for another technique of photo transferring using a packing tape. Before you do this, you need to print your image off of the laser printer, not an ink jet printer, on a piece of photocopy paper. It won't work from an ink jet prints.

Supplies needed are: Packing tape (any size, depends on your image size), image that you want to transfer, scissor, bowl of water, paper towel and mod podge (optional).

Step 1: Choose you image required to transfer.

Step 2: Carefully cover the printed image with a piece of packing tape. Avoid wrinkles or bubbles under the tape.

Step 3: Make sure it covers the whole image.

Step 4: I used spoon to burnish the surface of the tape to ensure the ink and the adhesive are completely in-contact. You also can use bone folder to do this.

Step 5: Cut the image with scissor (or just simply tear away the edge of the tape) then submerge it into a bowl of water for a few minutes until the paper is thoroughly saturated.

Step 6: Now you can start to rub the paper until it is completely peeled off the tape. Then what left will be the tape and the image.

Step 7: When the tape is completely clean from the paper residues, let it dry on the paper towel.

Step 8: The tape will still be slightly sticky, so you can layer your image over you work (canvas, cards, patterned paper, glass, etc) or if it doesn't stick, you can use glue. Mod-podge or gel medium would be better as they become transparent when dry.

Step 9: Now it is done!

Enjoy!

First, ever!

Salam and Hello.
I am so, so, so happy when I managed to finish my very first handmade Wedding Guest Book ordered by a friend in Shah Alam. She was asking me to make a guest book with red and white theme and black cover. I was so excited and took this as my new challenge as to improve my creativity. So I decided to use velvet for the cover and Japanese stab for binding.

It's a very simple layout with red felt flowers and brooches and some silver filigrees. And not to forget, the signage and 2 altered mason jar with paper doilies and chiffon flower, I made as the table setting deco.

Owh, by the way, the signage-- it is not a chalkboard, even if it looks like one (I couldn't find one at the nearest store that time). So, I got the cork board from Daiso, attached a piece of black cardstock on it with the double sided tape and that's it!

I will post the tutorial on making the signage, later. :)
Till then!
Ta-ta!

Mod Podge: Photo Transfer

Salam and hello.
Just a quick post. This project has been done last night, I mean midnight. I've been doing some simple research on this photo transferring project for about 3 weeks, and VOILA! I've done it!

HAPPY! And congratulations to me and Imran was the one that really happy with the result. He helped me making this, y'know. Thanks Dear!

I'm thinking of some other things that can be made with this technique.

And this in my new love in crafting!

Till then!

Hello again, my dear pillow!

Salam and hello,

Just a quick update on a quick DIY.

Ini satu cara macamana nak tampal bantal bocor, especially bantal kekabu.

Apa yang saya buat, firstly jahit sembat pada bahagian yang bocor tu. Then, potong felt ikut bentuk yang disukai, jahit-tampal untuk menutup bahagian yang telah disembat tadi. {{This is why I love felt, it won't fray!}}

Lastly, I did some {{back}} stitch on the pillow. Dan, siap! Tak perlu sarung pun... Hahaha!

And you know what, Imran loved it and bantal ni dah kekal jadi bantal dia setiap malam. Hohoho!

Till then! Ta-ta!

Weekend...

Salam and hello peeps,
What did you do during last weekend?
Imran and me spent 5 hours at Big Bad Wolf Book Sale at MAEPS, Serdang, and ended up with 14 books (including a mag) worth around RM300-400, for less than RM120. What a great deal!

And this is what I've been making during weekend. The Purple Anggur Boy, I named it. Ha-ha! Cute!

Being out of the headpiece-making day, I was just thinking of making something as a monthly giveaway for the student in the Arts Project Class in Shah Alam, whose project will be selected as the best one. So, this cute Anggur Boy is one of it. [Ohw, by the way, Imran said he likes the hair! Hehehe!]

Till then!

Happy Monday, people!

Roses headband For Aamily Izzati

Salam and hello,
Here's new thing made last week, a headband for my colleague's new-born baby girl, Aamily Izzati (what a sweet name!)

Roses are made of cream and pink satin, hand sewn and glued on the elastic headband. It's simple but I think the colors make this looks sweet.

Sweet stuff for sweet Aamily.

Wrong spelling on her name. Sorry, sayang! Your dad didn't brief me, ha-ha!

Till next time!

It's been a while...

Salam and hello,

Nampaknya dah lama tak update blog ni.

Dari Jamadil Ula sampai dah masuk minggu ke-3 Ramadhan 1432H. Nak kata sibuk sangat tu tak la, cuma tak berkesempatan masuk ke alam maya ni. Kebetulan pula ICT room kat institute ni dah terbakar, habis semua internet service tak berfungsi. Nampaknya memang kena pasang intrnet kat rumah la...

Good news to all, Imran and I will become Daddy and Mommy in this December! It was surprising since it's too early for a newly-wed like us. BUT, it's soo exciting having some kickings and rollings of the baby inside recently. Don't know is it boy or girl yet, but hopefully everything will go smoothly. Amen!

Currently I've been busy making some small business. Macam tahun lepas, saya jual serunding ayam dan daging. Cuma tahun ni tak ambil banyak. Harganya dah naik. Tapi, saya masih jual dengan harga yang sama dengan tahun lepas.

3 minggu lepas, ada Jumbo Sale kat Bernama. 2 weeks before that, Imran asked me whether I wanted to join the sale for my head and hair accessories. And I did. Syukur. And thanks to Imran for the support.

Lagi besemangat rasanya.

Mungkin baju baru pun takde. Mungkinlah. Maklumlah, banyak lagi keperluan yang perlu dicukupkan. Menjelang December nanti, lagi banyak dana yang diperlukan for the little one.

Tahun ini, Imran plan beraya di Penang. Lepas tu nanti baru balik Ipoh dan Pantai Remis. Huhu... apa rasanya beraya di tempat orang ye? First time raya di Sydney dulu tak la terasa sangat sebab masa tu Raya Haji.

Hehehe!

Large Rose Hairbands.

Pairs of Hairclips - Dahlia and Lacey Rose, ordered by Kurnia (Bernama)

Disebabkan terlupa nak beli plastic utk packaging, saya gunakan brown paperbag dan doilies untuk bungkusan.

And I think this Earth Friendly packaging is quite cool. This ones are for Kurnia (Bernama). Small Poppy Tudungclips as a giveaway!

Till then!
