Little Leli Deli

On the way home after work yesterday, I was thinking what were we having for dinner. I dropped by the Giant Supermarket to find anything that could be our meal for that evening. Surely it wasn’t rice, I wanted something else. Finally I decided to make a homemade burger for dinner and breakfast this morning. After the shopping, I reached home, took a shower and then started to browse a simple beef burger recipe from my recipe book collections, and I found one.

Not much ingredients are used, and I made some alteration on the recipe. And after it all has been done, I think I would like to name it Little Leli Deli. Ha-ha!

So, here I share the recipe, my own version.

Little Leli Deli

Beef patties:

400g minced beef

½ cup fresh bread crumbs

¼ cup flat or English parsley, finely chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper for seasoning

1 tbsp dried mix herbs

For Burgers:

1 French loaf, cut into sliced, diagonally

Baby Romaine leaves (or any other greens)

Mayonnaise

Mix all the ingredients for the patties in a bowl, use your clean hand to mix it up. Divide the mixture into small balls and pat them in your palm into small oblong shape patties. Heat the non-stick pan with an oil (please not too much). And fry the patties for about 5 minutes or until cooked. Remove from the pan.

And now, the best part. It’s up to you if you want to put some butter or garlic butter on the French loaf, or if you want to toast them up. Take one beef patty, cut it into half, horizontally. Then put it on the loaf, spread some mayonnaise, then the leaves and sandwich it with another slice of loaf. Done and it's ready to serve!

You can also put some tomato slices or avocado slice (Imran always doesn’t like it) or salsa on the patty, depends on how do you like it.

ENJOY!
